Full Day Fishing
Charter Islamorada
"The Ultimate Experience | 8 Hours of Pursuit"
What is a full-day fishing charter in Islamorada?
A full-day fishing charter in Islamorada gives you the range and flexibility to fish offshore and the reef in the same trip. Itβs the best choice for anglers who want time to adjust to conditions, target multiple species, and make the most of a full day on the water.
8 Hours of Hardcore Fishing
The full-day charter is our biggest trip. With 8 hours at our disposal, we don't have to compromise. We typically start the day by catching live bait on the patch reefs, then run offshore for the hunt across the deep blue.
The Hunt (Wrecks)
Depending on the bait caught, we head out looking for the pelagic predators. We target Sailfish, Wahoo, Tuna, and Mackerel patrolling the deep-water wrecks.
The Harvest (Reef)
For the second part, we return to the reef to anchor up and fill the cooler. We target delicious Snapper, Grouper, and Amberjack for your dinner table.
*The Captain's Call: The order of these events may be reversed depending on the wind, tide, and where the bite is hottest.

Full-Day Charter FAQs
Real answers to questions I actually get on the dock.
How long is the trip?
8 hours, typically 7am-3pm or 8am-4pm. The extra hours over the 6-hour offshore trip let us cover more water, switch tactics if one bite slows, and hit both the reef and offshore in the same day. Most flexible private charter on the board.
How much does it cost?
$2,200 plus $200 fuel for up to 6 anglers: about $400 per person split six. The 8 hours include captain, mate, all reef and offshore tackle, live bait, licenses, ice, water, and fish cleaning.
What can we target?
Sailfish on kite spreads, mahi on weedlines, blackfin tuna at the Humps, wahoo on the reef edge, kingfish and cero mackerel slow-trolled, yellowtail and mutton snapper anchored up, black and red grouper on the ledges, amberjack on the wrecks. 8 hours lets us hit multiple targets.
Is it worth it vs the 3/4 day?
Yes if you want multiple species and flexibility to chase a moving bite. The extra 2 hours over the 3/4 day (4 over the half-day) means run to the Humps for tuna in the morning, work the reef for snapper midday, slow-troll back for kings. Shorter trips force tighter choices.
Where do you go?
Depends on the day. Reef edge in 100-300 ft for sailfish and kings, the Humps 15 miles south for tuna, weedlines 6-15 miles out for mahi, patch reefs in 30-100 ft for snapper, offshore wrecks (Eagle, Spiegel Grove) for grouper and amberjack. 8 hours = multiple zones.
What techniques do you use?
All of them. Kite fishing for sailfish, trolling for mahi and wahoo, chunking and live-baiting for tuna, slow-trolling stinger rigs for kings, chum slicks for snapper, dropping for grouper, vertical jigging wrecks. I read the day and stack tactics for the best chance at numbers.
Who's it best for?
Serious anglers who want the strongest all-around day. Groups who want flexibility. Anyone who flew in for one shot at fishing the Keys: the extra hours buy options if weather or bite changes. Mixed-species coolers are normal on this trip.
What's included?
Captain (Keys Weekly Best Fishing Guide 2023), licensed mate, all reef and offshore tackle (Shimano, Penn, Lindgren-Pitman), live bait, licenses, ice, water, fish cleaning. Bring food, polarized sunglasses, non-spray sunscreen, layers (gets cool at speed), and cash for the mate (15-20% standard).
