Book a private charter if you want the whole boat and a trip built around your group. Book a split charter if you are a solo angler or couple who wants real offshore fishing without paying for the whole boat. Choose half-day for quick reef action, 3/4 day for the best all-around value, full day for max flexibility, and swordfish if you want the deep-water big-game version of combat.
Half Day
Fast reef and wreck action. Good for families and first-timers.
3/4 Day
Best overall value. Reef plus offshore options in one trip.
Full Day
More range, more flexibility, and better odds at big offshore fish.
Swordfish
A serious deep-drop expedition for anglers who want a trophy shot.
Why Islamorada. Why DirtyBoat.
Islamorada earned the title Sportfishing Capital of the World for one reason: the fish are here. The Gulf Stream pushes closer to shore along this stretch of the Keys than anywhere else in the continental U.S. That means less running and more fishing. Period.
DirtyBoat runs out of Robbie's Marina — the epicenter of Islamorada's charter fleet. From our slip, we're on the reef in minutes and in the blue water shortly after. The 42' Liberty Express has 900 horses of twin turbo Cummins diesel. We get to the grounds fast and we fish hard when we're there.
Charter Types
Private Charters — The whole boat is yours. Up to 6 anglers. You pick the target, we build the game plan. Half day for reef and wreck action. Three-quarter and full day for offshore trolling — sailfish, mahi, tuna, wahoo. Or go all-in with a dedicated swordfish trip, deep-dropping past 1,500 feet with electric reels.
Split Charters — Solo or traveling with one buddy? We match you with other anglers to share the cost on a full-crew offshore trip. Same boat, same gear, same captain. Max 4 anglers so everyone gets rod time. No spectators on DirtyBoat.
What's Biting & When
Winter (Nov–Mar): Sailfish season. The migration pushes through Islamorada and the bite can be nonstop. Kite fishing and live-baiting along the edge. This is what puts Islamorada on the map.
Spring & Summer (Apr–Aug): Mahi-mahi flood the weedlines. Schools of dolphins stacked under debris, smashing everything in sight. Fast action, bent rods, coolers full of fillets. Tuna and wahoo mix in along the humps.
Year-Round: Swordfish. The gladiator of the deep. Islamorada is ground zero for daytime swordfishing — a technique pioneered right here in the Keys. We deep-drop with Lindgren-Pitman electric reels to 1,800+ feet. When a broadbill eats, you'll know it.
Why DirtyBoat
Captain Kit Carson is tournament-tested — Cheeca Presidential, Gold Cup, and more. That competitive edge translates directly to your charter. We read the conditions, adjust on the fly, and put anglers on fish. The name says it all: if the boat's clean, we didn't fish hard enough. Blood on the deck, fillets in the fridge. That's DirtyBoat.
