Deep Sea Fishing Islamorada

3/4 Day Offshore Charter | "Dinner and a Show" | 6 Hours

What Is a 3/4 Day Offshore Charter in Islamorada?

This is DirtyBoat’s 6-hour offshore charter and it’s one of the best all-around trips on the board. You get enough time to catch dinner fish on the reef, push offshore for pelagics, and still avoid the full commitment of an 8-hour day.

Islamorada's Premier Deep Sea Fishing Experience

Our most popular deep sea fishing charter in Islamorada, and for good reason. You get 6 action-packed hours of offshore fishing just a few miles off the coast. We target multiple species and switch tactics as the tide turns. Reef fishing for dinner, then offshore for the big game. That's why we call it "Dinner & A Show."

Part I

Dinner (The Reef)

We start on the inner reef catching live bait and targeting the high-quality table fish to ensure the cooler is filled for the evening feast.

Snapper Grouper Mackerel
Part II

The Show (Offshore)

Once the "Dinner" is secure, we venture to the nearby wrecks on the hunt for the gladiators. This is where we look for the heavy-hitters.

Sailfish Wahoo Tuna Sharks

Why Choose DirtyBoat for Deep Sea Fishing in Islamorada?

Islamorada sits at the epicenter of deep sea fishing in the Florida Keys. The Gulf Stream runs closer to shore here than almost anywhere else on the East Coast, putting top offshore fishing within minutes of the dock. That's why serious anglers from around the world come to Islamorada for deep sea fishing, and why DirtyBoat calls it home.

Our 3/4 day deep sea fishing charter launches from Robbie's Marina and puts you on fish fast. Captain Kit Carson has been running these waters for years, targeting Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna, Sailfish, and Sharks on the nearby reefs, wrecks, and color changes. The 42' Liberty Express gets you offshore quickly and comfortably, with an air-conditioned cabin, tournament-grade tackle, and a crew that works hard so you don't have to.

Whether you're planning a family vacation, bachelor party, corporate outing, or just a day of serious fishing, our 6-hour offshore charter delivers the full Islamorada deep sea fishing experience. We handle everything: rods, tackle, bait, licenses, ice, water, and fish cleaning. You just show up ready to catch.

Islamorada deep sea fishing doesn't get better than this. Check rates and availability or call (305) 209-5594 to book your trip.

Deep Sea Fishing Islamorada FAQs

Real answers to questions I actually get on the dock.

What is a deep sea fishing charter in Islamorada?

A 6-hour offshore trip on the 42' DirtyBoat 2.0 that combines reef and wreck fishing for snapper, grouper, and mackerel with bluewater action for sailfish, mahi-mahi, tuna, and wahoo. We leave Robbie's Marina at MM 77.5; lines hit water in 20 minutes. I run every trip personally.

How far offshore do you go?

Most days we're in blue water 4 to 7 miles offshore. That's the Gulf Stream sitting close, which is the whole reason Islamorada works for deep sea fishing. Weed lines and rips for mahi run 6 to 15 miles out. The Humps for blackfin tuna are 15 miles south.

What's the best month to come?

Depends on what you want to catch. Sailfish: November through March. Mahi-mahi: April through August, best in May-June when water hits 78-82Β°F. Wahoo: October through March. Blackfin tuna: year-round at the Humps. Swordfish: deep-drop year-round but most consistent December through April.

How much does it cost?

$1,800 plus a $200 fuel surcharge for up to 6 anglers. That's $300 per person if you fill the boat. If you don't want the whole boat, a split charter starts at $475 per person. Every trip includes captain, mate, bait, tackle, licenses, ice, water, and fish cleaning.

Do I need experience?

No. I love teaching first-timers. About 40% of our 373 five-star reviewed trips include at least one first-time saltwater angler. The mate handles bait, rigging, and gear. You fight the fish. Same techniques I use in the Cheeca Presidential, scaled to your group.

What boat and gear do you run?

DirtyBoat 2.0, a 42' Liberty Express with twin Cummins diesels, air-conditioned cabin, fighting chair, and private head. Tournament-grade tackle: Shimano Tiagra and Talica reels, Penn International, and Lindgren-Pitman electric reels for deep drops. Same boat, same captain, same prep for over a decade.

What can we actually catch?

Sailfish, mahi-mahi, blackfin tuna, wahoo, kingfish, snapper, grouper, and mackerel are the regulars. Bonus shots at marlin in spring, cobia on the reef edge, and sharks year-round. The 6-hour trip lets us work reef and offshore, so we switch tactics if one bite slows.

What should I bring?

Polarized sunglasses, non-spray sunscreen, a hat, food and cold drinks, and cash for the mate (15-20% is standard). We provide everything else. Wear quick-dry clothing or a swimsuit. Pack light, the boat has room but not for full suitcases.
