Family Fishing Charters in Islamorada
Kids. Grandparents. Mixed experience.
Built for family days
We take a lot of families out. Kids as young as 4, teenagers who think they are too cool for it (they are not), grandparents who just want the ride, and everyone in between. The boat is set up for it: full cabin, AC, marine head, high freeboard, plenty of shade. If it is your kid's first fish, we make it a good one.
The half day is the family trip
For most families the 4-hour Half Day is the answer. It stays close, catches fish fast, and gets you back to the dock before anyone melts down. We work the reef and patches for snapper, mackerel, and grouper. Enough variety that everyone lands something. Nobody sits on the boat for hours with nothing happening.
If your kids are older or already anglers, the 6-hour 3/4 Day gets you offshore for mahi and sailfish, which is the trip your teenager will actually tell friends about.
Grandparents, non-fishing spouses, and photographers welcome. The cabin is air conditioned and out of the sun. Wildlife (dolphins, turtles, frigate birds) is common on the run out and back.
Safety gear on board
- USCG-approved life jackets, all sizes including infant and youth
- Full cabin with AC and shade from the sun
- Enclosed marine head (real bathroom, not a bucket)
- EPIRB and full first aid kit
- Fresh water rinse for salt spray
- PFD-required-for-under-6 gear standard on every trip
Pro tip for parents
Bring extra sunscreen (rub-on, no spray), a hat, and a change of clothes for the kids. Ziploc bag for phones. If your kid is prone to motion sickness, dose the night before and morning of. Half day trips are usually smooth enough that it never comes up.
Private beats split for families
Split charters are a great deal for solo anglers, but for a family, book the private boat. The whole trip runs on your kids' schedule: bathroom breaks when they need one, snack breaks between fights, and no strangers to negotiate with when your 6-year-old wants to head in early. Private also means we build the trip around what your specific group wants (heavy on reef, offshore run, dolphin watching along the way).
Book the family day
Half day, 3/4 day, private. Real-time availability.
That day's either booked solid or off our regular schedule. Call us: we keep a waitlist for last-minute openings, and we work with a fleet of sister boats that can run if we can't.
